2010 Georgia Sweet Potato Festival Parade
We welcome all churches, organizations, businesses, school clubs, and individuals to participate in the parade. Parade day sign-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at the Community House in Ocilla. Floats will be judged beginning at 10:00 a.m. The parade is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
Parade Rules:
- Only Parade Participants who have filed an Application Form prior to October 10 will be considered. All Parade Participants who have been approved will receive a parade pass with line-up number (at sign-in) to be clearly displayed on parade entry.
- No entries without a parade pass will be allowed on the day of the parade.
- All parade entries, including cars and trucks, must be decorated in keeping with the theme and contain appropriate sponsorship sign(s) visible to parade spectators.
- All motorized vehicles must be driven by an adult over the age of 18 years.
- Only golf carts, go-carts or scooters will be allowed to participate in the parade.
- NO three or four-wheelers will be allowed, unless pulled on a trailer.
- NO OBSCENE MUSIC, INDECENT CLOTHING OR DANCING will be tolerated.
- All horses will be lined up at the end of the parade.
- All business entries must return proof of business license with Application Form.
- For the protection and safety of all spectators, especially small children, we encourage you to furnish walking person(s) to hand out candy, rather than throwing candy to spectators.
